    Nice experience
Stopped by Silvara Cellars for a tasting. Beautiful, spacious tasting room and grounds looking down toward the Wenatchee River and the valley below. There is outdoor seating, but with the weather changing on us and a small drizzle today, we selected to sit inside. Our server was friendly and welcoming. For a tasting ($15.00 fee, waived if you purchase 3 bottles) you can select three wines. I chose the Carmenere, the Red Mountain Cab and the Woodland Goddess Blend. I didn't care for the Carmenere...too much green pepper taste, a bit too much of the Pyrazines for my taste, but I thought the Cab was big and bold and quite tasty....had to have a bottle of it.

    Lovely Spot, seemed pricey
The grounds are lovely and the servers were warm and friendly. We will very likely stop again with a picnic next time we are going anywhere near and try one of their whites. That said we thought the prices were pretty steep. A flight, three two-oz pours, for $20 is expensive wine. Before the virus we ate in many fine restaurants where a six-oz glass of excellent wine would be considerably less than that. We were going to picnic at one of their tables overlooking a nice view. $40 for two modest glasses of wine seemed a lot. In the end we had bottle of their red blend (60% cab, 40% merlot) for $28, and were handed a tablet with suggested tips of 20, 25, or 30%. I guess I'm out of touch, but bringing a bottle of wine and glasses to a table doesn't seem to require all that much service. The wine was good, and when we tasted it head to head later against an H3 red blend we just happened to have open at our cabin, it was quite similar... at almost 4 times the supermarket price. The wine is made in Chelan with grapes from Horse Heaven Hills, so this is strictly a tasting venue. Very well done, but not great value for the budget conscious.
