Penstock Trail (Old Pipeline Trail), Washington, United States

The fall color is at its best right now
Some time ago we loved hiking this trail, however yesterday we walked only half way on the trail, as there was a lot of water and we didn't have the correct footwear. The view from the parking lot to the bridge was spectacular, and we took a lot of photos from both sides of the bridge of the river. There were a few cars on the parking lot; we parked off the highway.

The Views Can't Be Beat
I have visited this trail twice - once in the fall, and once on a snowy winter day. It is comfortable hiking regardless of the season, and the views of the river and the mountains are absolutely wonderful. I really enjoy the historic bridge on this trail (aside from an abundance of graffiti). Take care in the parking lot; it can be a bit rough to drive.

Short, easy, hike along the river
Great trail for taking a short hike along the river. Round trip is less than three miles. Along the trail are a couple places where you can go down to the river. Parking is limited. Be mindful of old pieces of iron and bolts that occasionally stick up through the trail causing a tripping hazard.
