Great birding location!

My husband and I recently birded here several times looking for a specific bird. Thanks to the staff member who gave us specific directions, we found it. Very nice spot to bird, there is a dedicated birding trail or just take a walk.

    Fun visit
Interesting to see the hatchlings and mature salmon returning. Never know what you'll see on any given day. some easy to moderate hikes around the area. Good way to spend part of a day.

Fish Hatchery - worth the visit
The hatchery is close to downtown just a short drive and worthwhile bro see. Here the story of the hatchery was built in the 1940s and how has evolved to produce spring chinook salmon. It is a self guided tour, but there is a host on site that will answer any question and has a vast knowledge of the hatchery. There are interactive learning activities for the kids too.
