Rent the depot

My husband is a huge train guy. So, to surprise him for our wedding anniversary I rented the depot for a huge party. The staff is so helpful.

    Simple, educational, friendly
What a great little gem in "Olde Town Issaquah". Though it's not large, the Depot is full of old artifacts from Issaquah's past. This cool spot will appeal most to train buffs, locals who want to know their history, and inquisitive kids who enjoy learning. I like to go Fridays, when Doug is the docent (I believe they're all knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the Depot) a lot. He knows his stuff and can really bring the place to life (i.e. The building is original, but has been rescued from neglect and refurbished to look just like it did 100+ years ago; the floor is the original but they flipped the boards to extend their life!). Check it out next time you're downtown!

    Train Buff Site
We found this Depot when searching on TripAdvisor for things to do in Issaquah. It is a beautifully and lovingly restored building that really brought back memories of days gone by. There are some pictures of the Depot before restoration, and you can really see what an undertaking it was. There are displays about the history of the area, and I thought the recreation of the station master's office was amazing with all the equipment that would have been used. The freight room can be rented for events, which would be a great spot for those who love trains or history. It has the original wood flooring in it. It isn't a large museum, but it's a nice little outing.
