Amazing walk through American history...
The Grand Army of the Republic, G.A.R., was the veterans group for Union soldiers of the United States of America. If you are a history buff, this is your place. Graves date back to the early 1880's which is amazing for Western Washington. There are hundred of Civil War veterans buried here and it appears that Confederate soldiers were also accepted starting in the early 1900's as animosity faded. There is also a wonderful granite monument erected in time for Memorial Day (Decoration Day) 1914 which stands as a dramatic center piece to this historic place. The cemetery was established by the Morton, WA Post #10 of the GAR and is currently operated by Post 96 of the American Legion.

A real piece of Snohomish County History
Pick a nice day for a stroll through this wonderful historic cemetery just outside the city of Snohomish. The thousands of moss covered markers are wonderful to view in this most peaceful place. Watch for the bald eagle in the tall trees on the northern border. And don't forget to spend some time researching many of these interesting peoples lives. Easy to find.

Great Historic Photo Opportunities
Had a great day photographing Historic grave sites and eagles. The head stones dated back to early 1900s. The grounds are immaculate. The Eagles are stoic and even got a shot of a couple nests. Awesome pallet. Serenity oozes Here!
