    Lovely small museum
This is a very interesting small museum set in nice grounds (we had a nice picnic lunch there). The displays in the museum are top quality.

A modest but fascinating little museum
This little museum – also called ‘the Ferme du Caillou’ – is part of the general 'Waterloo Battlefield' patrimony and shares a website with the rest, but it is a few minutes’ drive from the Butte du Lion. It seems to get rather overlooked, which is a shame. It is a modest little place (with a modest entrance fee of 4 euros, or less if you qualify for the many ‘reductions’ categories) but it has some fascinating exhibits, including Napoleon's camp bed, the tables and tablecloth on which his final battle plans were made, and a skeleton from the battle! I've been several times with visiting friends and the museum staff are always very kind and welcoming. Inside, the house is accessible for wheelchair users and the staff open the side gate to provide an accessible entrance route. In the summer, the pretty walled garden is a lovely place to spend a quiet moment. Finally, for fans of Les Miserables, the garden is home to Victor Hugo's balcony from his time in Waterloo.
