Sequoyah Bay State Park, Oklahoma, United States

Another wonderful Oklahoma state park experience.
Oklahoma does have its problems and challenges, but it really has some gems in its state park system. My wife and I have visited at least 15 and Sequoyah provided another excellent experience for us. We stayed in one of the cabins, which had a great view of the lake. We put in over 10 miles on the trails, saw a good bit of wildlife, and spent a some time at the lodge as well. It's a beautiful place.

Seminole camp ground
Very nice campground ....one of 3....for RV camping Clean, quiet with good views of the lake. Lots of birds and critters. The park staff and hosts could not have been nicer.. About 8miles from town and a variety of restaurants and stores. Would like to go back in the fall. Think it would be beautiful.

Back in the day
What USED to be one of Oklahoma's best has not aged very well. A lot like a red haired stepsister. When new and even newish, it was AWESOME, but politics have shown that it does not help any aspect of the travel industry. Still a beautiful place{lodge excepted}, but getting more than a tad rough around the edges. Lodge is straight from the '50s with the only real updating is , uh, is uh, is the telephones, Yea, that's IT, THE PHONES! They have been updated! . The pool no longer leaks, but be careful of the cracked surroundings. USED to be able to fly in with your private plane , but better bring the company helicopter, now-a-days. It truly is sad to see such a great lady age so much without ANY plastic surgery. Oh, well, at least we have our memories, don't we? Here is to ya granny. Shoulda done that facelift.
