    Went for the Catacombs...
The cathedral itself is beautiful, and very grand but we specifically went for the catacombs tour: Very interesting tour, under a beautiful cathedral. It's only a small tour, taking about 25-30 minutes. Those who are expecting Paris sized catacombs should be aware that it is very, very tiny in comparison, but worth a visit in our opinion. We didn't see as much of the actual bones as expected (fellow dark tourists be warned it is pretty mellow in comparison to other ossuaries and catacombs). However, you do get to see the restoration room, where they are restoring various statues etc, as well as various old coffins and urns. Our guide was great at compiling a fair bit of information into not a very long tour. It is very well lit for a catacomb, there are some stairs but they provide hand rails on all of them. Not too many low ceilings. If you are clostrophobic then it may not be worth it, it is fairly small rooms and our tour group was pretty large, there was still a little breathing space but even as someone who isn't the least bit claustrophobic I did have a moment of it! All-in-all worth a visit. It only costs €4 per person (if you can't figure out where to get a ticket it's because you pay in cash at the end, directly to the guide!). It's a unique thing to do, and only takes a small amount of your day. Don't go in with expectations of huge catacombs, expect something quite small but to learn an interesting snippet of Vienna's history, and you shouldn't be disappointed!

    Recommend climbing the south tower
This is an impressive cathedral. It's great that it's free to visit the main part of the cathedral. I'd recommend climbing the south tower, it's cheap at 6 euros and is enjoyable, with good views from the top which can help you get your bearings around the city. It's around 300 steps, good stone steps.
