Opulent palace gardens
The over one square kilometre gardens of Schonbrunn Palace are impressive - extensive, beautiful, varied and well maintained. There is just so much to see - it would take all day to explore these gardens fully, especially if you also walk up the hill to the Gloriette which affords panoramic views of the Palace. Definitely worth the incline! It is easy to imagine the opulence of Habsburg Palace life when confronted with the many sculptures, fountains, statues, lawns, woods and landscaped gardens. There's the Neptune Fountain, Roman Ruins, Obelisk Fountain, Rosarium, Palmenhaus, Japanese Garden, to name a few areas. Take your time. Sit a while and enjoy the serenity and tranquility these gardens provide. All free ... except for the Orangery Garden, Privvy Garden and Maze.

Massive Baroque landscape
Every bush, tree, or flower is carefully trimmed to enhance the view of the palace. It's actually a vast piece of nature modified by emperor's gardeners just to please the eyes of the Imperial family. Allegoric statues line up alongside the alleys and a monumental Baroque fountain catch all the eyes in the center of the park. From Gloriette, on top of the hill, the visitors can enjoy a great view over the entire city of Vienna. Although the entrance ticket to Schonbrunn museum is very costly (about Euro 40 for adults), the gardens can be explored for free. Not only the entrance fee to museum is expensive, be prepared for shocking prices all around the Schonbrunn Palace: an apple pie is 14 Euro (customers can also order half apple pie for 8 Euro). It seems that Sissy's fans don't care much about money :)
