Stunning and worth every bit of your time!

The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

    Excellent --Great tour
This was a very good tour. information overload but well worth the visit. The admission will either include an audio guide or a live guide, who is scheduled at certain times (you may have to wait longer). You can enjoy their cafe indoors or out while waiting and get a free bathroom pass when you pay your bill. There are also free bathrooms inside the palace. The gardens are free and quite extensive and lovely. Note there are some stairs. Two items of advice that may be helpful I purchased my entry tickets from the hop on hop off bus for the Schonbrunn Palace both to as it is cost effective and less time consuming. The tickets sent had to be shown and exchanged at the palace for the entry tickets and to be given a time to attend. Remember this on arrival at the Palace we walked to the entrance gates where we witnessed a massive queue to get the entry tickets, as my initial ticket stated i could avoid the queues I went via a side door to the very front of the queue and asked the ticket staff member, where was the avoid the queues ticket allocation counter to obtain my entry ticket I was informed I either joined the massive queue or went back outside to the gift shop near the hop on hop off big bus stop outside and present my receipt and they would exchange my bus ticket, for the entrance ticket. we proceeded back out side to the bust station and gift shop where their were no Queues what so ever and they examined my bus ticket and printed me with my entrance ticked to enter the Palace which was only thirty minutes away, and so we avoided the queues after all BIG BUS Company it would be helpful if when you sell the entrance tickets for the place, you inform the customer you can obtain your entry ticket from the gift shop in the car park by the bus stop, thus avoiding the massive queues as described. Also a good point to remember when finishing the tour of the Palace and Gardens which was excellent, on the way back , or on the way in, in bus station, you do need euro coins or a credit card for the public conveniences. hope that helps JD WALES

Stunning and worth every bit of your time!
Stunning and worth every bit of your time! One of my favourite places to visited. I would highly recommend the live tour guide, which you can learn a whole lot more, especially if you have children. You can easily spend a full day here and still have not experienced it all. The Schönbrunn Palace visits are timed, so when you purchase your tickets, you are given the opportunity to schedule a time. I would also recommend visiting the Sisi Museum first before the visiting the Schönbrunn Palace.
