Great place for a night out!
We visited the Prater Park at night around 20h in January. The weather was quite cold but it was worth the trip. The park is easily accessible by tram and it was pretty much empty. Many of the rides were closed but the park still had its lights on and that created good atmosphere. The park has good photo-ops and the main rides that we wanted to do was a ferris wheel and a haunted house ride. The ferris wheel was a smaller wheel and costed 5 EUR per person. The ride lasted about 5 min. We were given blankets for the ride as well. The view from the top was definitely worth the ride. Of course the ride could lasted longer than 3 rounds of 5 min in total but given that the price is lower than the other wheel, it was worth it. One of the highlight, however, was the haunted house ride which costed 3,50 EUR and lasted a little over 5 min. You get to sit in a small car of 2 people and this car takes you around the whole house. Monsters and ghouls popped out to frighten you on the way. Although the scare was pretty basic, the ride was very enjoyable. Our time in Prater Park was one of the best memory of Vienna.

Lovely park - spoiled by dreadful customer service at big wheel
The park is great fun - and free to enter - and would always recommend it on a trip to Vienna as have been several times. Latest visit marred by grumpy unhelpful man in big wheel kiosk who stood chatting idly to colleague while I was waiting to buy tickets and when I asked approximately what time other attractions would open snapped that he wasn't an information service! But without knowing that information you can't decide whether to buy rise packages advertised at the wheel. The photographers on the entry to the wheel were, in contrast to this man who should not be in a customer facing role, smiling and very helpful.
