One of our favorites
We love skiing at Mad River. The trails are longe and varied. The single person chair is awesome. No snowboards allowed. No gondola. Old fashion lift tickets that attach to your zipper are an adorable novelty! This place is no fuss, easy in and easy out. Arrive EARLY for good parking. You will love it.

I really hesitate to write this as i want to keep the secret. The skiing here is awesome. Very challenging terrain, so if you are here you are here to ski for real. Charming retro feel to the lodge etc. : it’s like stepping back into 1980s skiiing. Terrain to die for. Lift capacity quite limited so you can wait a bit at the bottom but that means that when you get to the top you can find glades and bowls all.to. Your. Self. Not for beginners: even the nursery slope has a jump on it. Moguls everywhere.
