Great walk or bike ride
Walked the bike trail but next time here will rent an electric bike readily available with access at various locations. The walk is extremely enjoyable along Lake Champlain looking over the glass still waters and the beauty of the mountains. A park on one side can be had for lunch, walking your dog or eating and sitting on the large swings available throughout your bike ride or walk. Highly recommend the adventure!

Unique experience
The old Burlington Northern rail line has been converted into a walking/bike trail that runs south through the city of Burlington and (even more fun) north to the Causeway - a gravel packed trail perfect for biking that leads all the way to South Hero Island. A unique part of that journey is the bike ferry which allows you to cross a 200 foot ‘cut’ in the Causeway for boat passage. The people operating the ferry are very friendly and helpful - loading the bikes on board, etc. You don’t have to go all the way, you can turn around at the ferry terminal, about a 20 mile round trip from Burlington. Highly recommended!
