    Excellent museum
Fantastic museum featuring some fascinating displays from paleolithic times to the oldest worked gold discovered in the world dating back 7,000 years, through the classical, hellenistic, roman, all the way through to the ottoman period. All artifacts are professionally displayed with comprehensive well translated explanations. We spent almost 3 hours but could easily spend another 3. Could do with a cafe for a break part way through.

    Treasures of Bulgarian history
Before travelling to Varna we researched its points of interest and the Archeological Museum was at the top of the list. Museum is filled with artefacts displayed in chronological order and illustrate a vast historic period for Varna and its surroundings. The oldest forged gold artefacts are truly the highlight and are well worth the time. There are exhaustive historical facts and details regarding the diggings presented in English. A must if you are a hobby historian or just want to find out more about our days Bulgaria and the Black Sea area.
