The heart of a charming town
We travelled to this lovely town from Helsinki by bus. It was fast (45 minutes) and comfortable. We walked in narrow streets among the old wooden houses and saw the famous church. We admired the traditional dark-red houses on the river bank. It was beautiful and peaceful. In the centre we saw the nice Town Hall Square. I think it’s a must-see attraction.

Stunning.
Finland's oldest town hall. Saw it first thing when eating breakfast from the b&b window and then when out for walks in the day/night. It's stunning. See for yourself.

Soak up the medieval feel standing in the square
Standing on the square you can soak up the medieval feel of the surrounding buildings full of history! You will see the Town Hall which is the oldest town hall building in Finland and it's of Hårlemanian Baroque classicism style. The square is the only intact market complex dating back to the 1700s in Finland. Tourists appreciate it as a peaceful living room-like place where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere of old Porvoo.
