Fantastic wilderness park
Helsinki is surrounded by wilderness parks, which despite of they are called parks they are old forests where you need to know where to go. Otherwise you can lose your way as I have succeeded to do. Good place to walk, pick especially mushrooms in the autumn. Own food and beverages is better to take with you there are no cafes or restaurants nearby.

National Park next to the capital
Sipoonkorpi is a small national park close to the center of Helsinki, much beloved by locals. It's mostly a forested area with some cultural landscapes (limestone mining, lime-burning, agricultural areas). The park has two well-marked nature trails (Ponu's Heritage Post Nature Trail 1,4 km in the northern part of the park, and Kalkinpolttajanpolku Trail 7 km in the southern part). The trails are suitable for a half-day excursion. There are no shops or other commercial services, so bring your own food and water (and good shoes!). The government has a good website with instructions and detailed descriptions of the trails.
