Thrilling walk through Robbers Cave

If you are looking for some fun and adventure, then this is the place to go to in Dehradun. Ample parking. Entry ticket is just Rs. 35 per adult. Walking into the cave in knee deep water is quite a thrilling experience for which bathroom slippers are a must. The adventurous sort can even carry swimsuits. Slippers and lockers are available for nominal rent. Many small eateries serving Maggi, momos, beverages etc throng the area. Carry your own picnic hamper and spend a day at leisure.

    Robber's cave (actually a gorge)
It is actually a gorge (open from top, not a cave). It has about 2 to 3 inches deep water flowing all the time. You need to wear slippers to enter and those are available on rent there for a nominal fee of Rs 10. There are some food joints. The place gets crowded during peak season. (I visited in May)

    Nice walk through the waters
It was a unique experience for us. We never visited any place before where we could hike through water in between hillocks. You can rent slippers from the entrance and easily enter into the waters.....don't try in barefoot as the stones below are quite rough. What I did not like about the place is that it gets a bit too crowded in the evenings. Making our way through the crowd we somehow went till the start of a waterfall, took some pics and returned. This is an activity which you can try out with your family easily as it is far from risky.....but if you have difficulty in walking then it is better for you to stay back. Also you can enjoy bathing in the water or the waterfall if you have ample time in your hand.
