Stunning architecture

For locals, this is obviously a wonderful place to read newspapers, drink coffee, work in peace and quiet, etc. But as a tourist, please take a peak inside. It is wonderfully designed. The light is beautiful and the atmosphere comfortable with the wood and concrete. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant in the top floor with some great views!

    Dramatic ceiling
The library has the most dramatic ceiling we have seen in a library. It is similar in design to the great library in Alexandria, Egypt; with many side niches and stadium like platforms rising to the top of the huge central room. Information is only available in Dutch, but the information desk personnel are friendly and English speaking. Worth a stop in, just for the architecture.

    Exciting new library
This library is a far cry from the traditional libraries you remember. Every imaginable aspect of what could constituate a modern library is there. The lay-out is mind blowing and the architecture fascinates from the moment you enter. If you haven't been there yet go and have a coffee.
