Breathtaking views
We visited on a Tuesday in November, and it wasn't crowded at all. It was sunny and in the 40's (Fahrenheit) but the wind made it feel chillier. The entrance fee was $20 and well worth it because the views are just breathtaking. We hiked one of the rim trails with our dog to the Colorado River overlook and it was super easy. After dinner in Moab, we drove back into the park for a Dark Sky view but the moon was too bright that night. If you can, plan your trip for when there is a new moon if you are into stargazing.

Dead Horse State Park at sunset
Went here to see the sunset which frankly was a little disappointing as we had hoped it would cause the surrounding canyons to be lit up in "sunset colors". There is plenty of space to spread out so you can't sit here for a long time and watch the sun set. There are a couple of shaded picnic areas but they aren't in a space from where you can see the sunset. It's about 45 minutes from Moab and has a $20 entry fee per car.
