Nice small museum
We entered it while wondering in Kranj. And bought a combo ticket for 2 museums + coffee for just 7 euro. Not much, and we enjoyed very much both of the museums. At this one you could see the old city hall and a little about the area history. Additionally there was an exhibit about Tito, which was very nice too. See the pictures for more details

Nice
Crowed during national holiday (8th February), as whole city of Kranj. And entrance is free on holiday. Nice, rich, but small museum. Should see when in Kranj.

Gorenjski muzej is the old Town Hall
Separating old Town Hall from the Gorenjski museum is not convenient. Just main hall in piano no9bile is preserved from the old Town Hall. All the inner space is devoted to regional museum with some permanent collections in the upper two stories and with a place for exhibitions in the ground floor. Lojze Dolinar is the leading artist in the permanent collection. You can finish you visit in an hour or so. For archeology I recommend a guided tour.
