Best small museum
This has to be the best small museum I have ever visited. It makes all the archeological displays here in York look positively modern!! It is so well done yet seems understated. A must for anyone interested in learning more about this fabulous area. We will be back with our grandchildren as soon as we can.

Best small museum

thorough explanation of a 7000 year old culture
To explain a 7000 year old tradition of salt mining, and the various cultures that established in this region over the millenniums can easily make the experience dull and boraing and school like well this was done tastefully, and the history was explained well without it looking like a class of history at school all aspects over the 7000 years were explained well
