Beautiful shrine including museum, on the lake....
This is the Chinese shrine I talked about in my new submission about Chaleom Phrakiat Park which should be approved shortly. And one of the features that really makes Chaleom Phrakiat Park the best destination, in my opinion, for a day spent in Udon Thani. It is anything but a typical Chinese shrine by a pond. The shrines themselves are definitely in the traditional Chinese style, elaborately decorated with full colour Chinese dragons and a lot of gilt with pagodas extended out over the lake. However the rest of the grounds really do set it apart. They are big so be prepared to spend some time to take it all in - you can really spend a whole day especially if you are checking out the rest of the park at the same time. The museum showcasing the history of Thai-Chinese relations in Udon Thani upstairs and the life of Confucius downstairs is beautifully laid out and informative even though it is not that large. The grounds outside the Museum are my favourite part, peaceful walkways and water features with koi ponds and a few well placed pieces of history (ancient tuk tuks, pedal power) that you can take photos of or in. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for interesting things to do in Udon.

A typical Chinese shrine by the pond...
it was built in chinese style housing two goddess (grand pa & grand ma) who is well respect by mostly the chinese decent here in Udorn. a lot of place & architectural site to worth taking photo. This place is big. you spent 1-2 hours without notice...worth a visit.
