Amazing Museum at an Amazing Place
The day I joined the National Museum, Delhi as a volunteer guide, I was interested in knowing about the different civilizations. During my stay in Thailand, I planned to visit Ban Chiang. I found amazing potteries of 2500 BC with beautiful paintings that are completely different from Indus Valley Civilization.

Dont miss this if you go to Northern Thailand - 45 mins from Udon Thani
This is an excellent archaeological site that is under the UNESCO World Heritage Act so it is funded well. It is about 45 minutes out of Udon. It is a mostly an air-conditioned museum with state of the art interpretation. Incredible artifacts and a surprising history of bronze implements as well as the 6 phases of pottery. After the museum we walked 400 metres to a covered site they have left open for display. The village of Ban Chiang itself is gorgeous too. We did not have much time so paid for a taxi to take us there and back and wait while we were there (over 4 hours there) for 1200 baht. If you have a car or bike - go for it. It would have been nice to stay in ban Chiang too - there are some guesthouses but again - time wise we couldn't.
