2 Color River, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand

3.5 (26 reviews) Spent Ranking #8 in Khong Chiam Bodies of Water

2 colors indeed

It's nearly June and the 2 colors are back.maybe the opposite of expected. The Mekong has been called the blue Mekong lately due to the lack of waterflow caused by Chinese dams and dry weather Meanwhile some rain has hit Ubon and the Moon river is darker. It's not dramatic but there is a distinct line as my photo shows. The lookout is interesting enough itself because its next to Wat Khong Chiam. A must see if in Khong Chiam.

    1 colour river...
Both rivers were blue when I visited, giving a nice view of one, blue, river ?. Lots of people were taking pictures of it anyway.

    Where Mun meets Mekong
Not a must see but not bad at all. If you are in the neighborhood it is worth to stop here. No entry fee at the river view points and there are many places for parking. You can see how the Mun river meets the Mekong river and depending on the time of the day and light conditions the river has really two color. Nice enviroment, calmness.
