Museum Dar el-Annabi, Tunis Governorate, Tunisia

4.5 (98 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Sidi Bou Said Speciality Museums

A fantastic place to drop by

An incredible place, with entrance fee a mere pittance: 5 TD. Although the woman who took my money scowled at me, she later served two glasses of included mint tea with a smile so go figure. I was the only tourist on a weekday lunch visit. I could have lingered for another hour inspecting all the details… a beautiful place with an incredibly relaxing vibe. There’s printouts in different languages including English.

Small Gem on the Main Street in Sidi Bou Said
This is a very beautiful house that shows how rich people used to live. Old pieces of furniture, carpets, traditional costumes, old photos, decorations and household items are on display in the rooms. The house is painted in white and blue and the upper terraces and roof offer a wonderful view of Sidi Bou Said and Tunis. The ticket was 5 dinars and it included the entrance fee and a glass of mint tea, which was served in the courtyard. I enjoyed my visit a lot and I am really glad I discovered this small museum.

    Heritage Maintained
It’s so good to see that people are proud of their past and maintain their past life style, memories intact and one such place is the Dar Al Nabbi, where the family still stays in the same type of house that probably their ancestors lived 200 years ago. There are some part of the house which they have made it as museum for people to visit and experience the culture, life style, etc of early Tunisians. The tour ends with a sweet little mint tea, to be had in the courtyard of the house.
