Marfa lights
We were fortunate to get to see the “real” Marfa Lights back in 1992. Once you know where highway 67 is it really isn’t all that difficult to discern between the traffic on the Hwy and the real lights! That evening was great with some of the orbs even coming within a couple hundred yards of our roadside viewing spot. It’s was incredible and almost scary at times. Lol. The funny thing is that the best viewing was at 4am when we could see the lights starting at about a mile east of town and there where literally dozens of lights dancing around the desert floor. At the time I thought this was normal for out there but have since discovered that we were very blessed to get to experience the lights that way. Most people watch the highway traffic and think they are seeing the lights. If you can ever catch it on one of those perfect nights you will know how amazing and mysterious it really is out there!!

Must Go
We spent a single night in Marfa and were lucky to see the lights! I could have stayed all night, marveling at the mystery. The viewing area is newly-built, well-lit (for a nighttime viewing area), safe-feeling, and has good restroom facilities. Would have appreciated more benches and fewer local partiers. (Perhaps the best local boozy hangout for young people? It is a small town...)
