    Learn the history of Fredericksburg
If you are a first time visitor to Fredericksburg this is the best place to start if you want to learn about the town and it’s German history. Admission is: $7.50 Adults; $3.00 ages 6-17; 5 and under free. Start with the excellent 15 minute video then tour the buildings at your own pace: a school, barn, blacksmith shop, summer house, smokehouse, cabin, two homes and fire engine display. Each building has audio recordings by locals that describe what you see. If you need to rest there are many benches to sit on. The restrooms were spotless and gift store small but nice. Check the website to see if there are any special events going on but even if there isn’t, this is a great place to visit.

    Unexpectedly informative and exciting
We stumbled over this museum during our short stay at Fredericksburg. It looked very small from the outside and i didn't expect much, but once we stepped in in the very first house for introduction i was quite impressed with the presentation. We visited in a middle of a week and thus there were hardly any people so we practically had the entire place for ourselves. It made the experience even more pleasant as we could spend time looking through all the artifacts and read the materials without interruption. Besides the audio-recorded stories were a great addition to the story! We enjoyed this stop, learned a lot and would recommend to visit!
