The Heard-Craig Center is located in a beautifully-preserved historic home built in 1900. The Center is the home to 20 McKinney Arts organizations. Each organization has a monthly education program. The Heard-Craig Center holds Quarterly Teas in the Main House and is available to be booked for Private Teas, Bride and Attendant Teas, Wedding Photos, Garden Weddings up to 200, and wedding/birthday/anniversary parties. The Center holds Granddaughter Teas, Ballet Teas, and other events that compliment the exhibits, museum artifacts, and art collection.

Collected Boxes... Anything But Empty
I recently visited to see an exhibit called "Collected Boxes... Anything But Empty," and to read the accompanying poem "In Boxes", both by Susan Mardele. The exhibit combines a beautifully written poem with the experience of exploring a lifetime collection of personal boxes. There's a narrative about each box, and, the arrangement of the boxes themselves were very artistic in a beautiful room of the mansion. I highly recommend visiting this historic Victorian mansion, garden, and carriage house. The knowledgeable and friendly staff will help guide you back in time and make your visit a special one.

Wonderful visit!
The Center was showing a special exhibit of decorated Ukrainian Easter Eggs. The exhibit was wonderful! The level of craftsmanship was exquisite and there were detailed descriptions of how the eggs were decorated. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in showing the exhibit. The garden flowers were in bloom and were beautiful. Highly recommend a visit to the Center when visiting McKinney.
