Easy stop off of I-40
This is one of the Tennessee visitors centers. This site is about 3 miles in when traveling on I-40 out of North Carolina and into Tennessee. Like many of roadside stops it is designed to be able to pull directly off the road and into the parking lot. There is one main building painted grey up a hill from the parking lot. It looks like an old log cabin complete with rocking chairs on the front patio of the structure. Inside is a dark tile floor and wood on the desk facing the door. There appears to be plenty of parking. The main building is up a flight of stairs and a ramp. There is a person to greet you in the center room of this main building. As you enter the building, to the left are the restrooms and to the right, there is a room for informational brochures. The restrooms are a little dated but nice. The staff was very friendly and had plenty of information about the local area. It was a very easy and pleasant stop and I highly recommend it for visitors needing a rest stop or some information on the sites to see in the state.
