Rainbow Lake Trail, Tennessee, United States

Great hiking trails, a little rocky and muddy

Generally an easy trail, but it was muddy during December and a lot of rocks. Would highly recommend to wear hiking shoes. We didn’t get to the point where you can see the actual river as we were pretty tired from previous days of hiking and wall climbing, but it does have many places of interest along the way. There’s the dam right at the start, followed by a cave formation. Just about 20 mins past the cave formation is a rock formation that provides some good photo opportunity. We hiked up about 8-ish in the morning, which i think was a great timing for this trail. Wouldn’t recommend night hikes because it’s really rocky.

    Worth the trip
A few places of the hike are steep. Overall easy walking along a well marked path. The swing bridge is fun to walk over. The lookout to the lake are amazing. Saw lots of kids along the trail. The walk in is along a golf course, which seems odd, but you leave that behind at the true trail head.
