Montgomery Bell Golf Course, Tennessee, United States

2.5 (2 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Burns Golf Courses

golf course in the Montgomery Bell State Park

This course was in the center of the iron industry and there are still some smelter furnaces around. I thought there was a lot of variation between the holes. Since this was our first time playing this course we were luckily paired up with a regular who gave us the lines of the tee. There were several holes where I would have easily get in trouble on the wrong line. There are lots of elevation change which was done very well. The greens were large and rolled well. They had a lot of subtle breaks and some fairly significant breaks especially down off of the greens. The bunkers were very well placed to give you an idea where to hit. However, the practice green was very sloped and I found it hard to play well. The driving range was hit downhill so I could not see where the balls landed.

    Golf course Review {BAD}
    So me and my son usually play at the country club we did play at Montgomery bell golf course for a while, well today the country club didn't have any tee times for us after we got off work, so we chose to go there. Everything was great until we bought a small bucket of balls to hit at the range after we palyed, so we go to tee at hole one and we hit and start to drive down to the fairway then the starter comes up and says are y'all using these range balls we said no sir he said that's okay we just wanted to make sure, I understand that then we keep playing and we get to hole 4 and these guys drive by one was a nice guy who talked to my son my son was sitting in the drivers seat waiting on me then he would slide over and he was cooling off with one refreshments then they pull up and the driver gets out and says the real reason were here is to see if you have adrivers license and he was just sitting there then my son said no I don't then the man says well one its illegal for you to drive 2 its liability for us and he was sitting there doing nothing then as we go to hole five a guy comes and checks on Hs agian , by this time we are very frustrated witht the way we have been treated so we stop playin then the guy just say were just checking okay cool, he's not being rude then we keep playing these guys check on us every 5 min such as we were criminals then as we get done with the 1st 9 the starter at the club house watches us then on hole 10 the 2 guys before pull up behind us to play hen 3 holes later they turn around! What we are getting harassed we played all the way through but will regret it, also his age is supposed to give me a 10$ discount and they only took a dollar off they will jack leg you there but other than that we love the park trails cannoning etc so just don't play golf there thanks.
