Visitors Center should be first stop
This visitors center should be your first stop on visiting Jonesborough. There is a very nice museum about the town and an excellent gift shop featuring a variety of things, including books about the area. The man working behind the desk greeted us warmly and provided a map with some of the most interesting local features marked. This town has very wisely preserved its history and many beautiful homes and buildings.

Never had any idea Jonesborough had so much to offer
One of the first places we visited was the "Old Town Emporium and the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center" It's a modern, beautiful center with a very nice museum attached to it. We had no idea Jonesborough had so much to offer. The museum tells the story of Jonesborough in a very concise way with great exhibits. The people that work at the welcome center are very knowledgably and extremely friendly. My wife and I travel all over the country and find that most people at welcome centers are very friendly, but the people of Jonesborough have a way about them that makes you feel very welcome while you are visiting their town. All of the people we met were so easy to talk to.

Located inside the Historic Jonesborough Visitor's Center, the Old Town Emporium offers a great selection of Jonesborough related items. Whether you're looking for quality regional crafts, books on Storytelling,history, or jellies and jams, The Emporium is the place to visit. Plus they are open seven days a week!
