The Fantastic Residence of the Royal Family

The Saad َAbaad complex consists of 18 palaces and museums in a beautiful garden; A lush garden is an excellent place for passing a couple of hours. The decoration inside the palaces, notably the White Palace and the Green Palaces, is fantastic. Also, you can see the luxurious belongings of the royal family of the last kings of Iran. Moreover, there are several museums in the Complex, including the Farshchian Museum, the Museum of the Royal Automobiles, Mellat Museum (Nation Museum), etc. I was fascinated by the Farshchian Museum that was full of beautiful paintings. After visiting the Saad Abaad complex, we visited Darband Recreational Site in the same neighborhood and had lunch there. That was an excellent experience, I suggest it.

One of the best places to explore Iranian Mythology, Culture and History.
The whole Sa’dabad complex used to be the Summer Palace for the Iranian royal family; and it is more than 1 square kilometer. It would take one more than 3 days to visit all the palaces and the museums in the complex. We stayed at the 5-star Parsian Azadi International Hotel, which is less than 15 minutes away from the Sa’dabad complex. The complex is around 1 hour of driving from/to IKA (Imam Khomeini International Airport), which is not very ideal. Highly Recommended.

    posh region of teheran
An irani freind took us to this complex on our first day. We were still quite tired and a bit overwhelmed. We would probably have problems getting to or from it alone as it is so far in the north. But it is quite cool (compared to the rest of the city) with beautiful gardens and palaces - although we only went into the green palace (no pictures allowed). One would deffinatly need more time to see more.
