War Eagle Resort Float Trips, Oklahoma, United States

3.5 (18 reviews) Spent Ranking #4 in Tahlequah River Rafting & Tubing • Kayaking & Canoeing

Room was alot nicer than expected.

A/C was on when we got their and it worked great. They had the best black out window shades out of anywhere we have stayed. We all slept in up until check out time on Sunday after staying on a Friday & Saturday night and the 12 mile raft trip on Saturday.

    Fun for all ages
A fun family activity that even grandma can join in. Just be sure to plan your day accordingly. If it is hot, you might want to only do the half day trip. Also, plan on taking rain gear if forecast calls for rain, as they plan on you going unless flooding or lightning. No refunds on their hotel rooms or cabins. Your first night is your deposit, and it is non-refundable. We chose one of their hotel rooms, instead of a cabin, as you have to provide your own bedding and towels in the cabins. Their location is not good if you have Verizon for a wireless company. T-Mobile worked great, and some service if you have AT&T. There is no TV or phones in the rooms. There is a small dorm refrigerator, but no microwave. If you chose to use a cabin, be sure to read what all is available in each one. After talking to people using the cabins, I would take an air mattress to place on top of their mattress'. Our motel room had regular size beds, and the mattress' were poor to awful. Also, the room we had was not very clean, but Hey, we were camping. Staff and other guests could not have been any nicer. My grandkids enjoyed the sand volleyball. They have a very informative website that tells about the different forms of accommodations and the costs of the different modes of river travel. There is also a super good BBQ place across the drive from the office. The drive up Highway 10 is beautiful! The later in the season you go, the lower the river level, usually. The lower the water, the more paddling you will be doing.

    Bunkhouse sleeping
While staying at the resort I stayed in one of the bunkhouses and the bunk beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you can please buy an egg crate mattress topper. I would have given more stars but due to the bunk beds, not able too. Other then that the resort was nice and clean.
