    Close to a main road
We were travelling through Austria and just wanted to take the break from driving. We knew about this castle before and decided just to have a look. It's nice, renovated and taken care of, certainly not a ruin. There are a couple of exibitions in it, science, culture, tradition and so. It's easy to find it and no problem with parking a car (for free). I mean, there are lots and lots of castles in Austria and this one wouldn't make top 10 probably in any category but for me, it was worth spennding an hour or so there.

Fills a couple of hours on a rainy day
Needed somewhere dry for an iffy day and this place looked interesting from the reviews. The castle itself isn't particularly special from the outside but inside is really interesting. It has been converted into a thoroughly modern museum without damaging or even really obscuring the beautiful old features of the building. As a couple with very limited use of German it would have been nicer to have a little more information in English but what they did provide was useful. Especially fun was the finale of the spiral staircase with the piano wire - even without kids! Didn't visit the outside as the weather was so poor. It's a shame there's no cafe so make sure you time a visit accordingly or take your own food
