Great Austrian outdoor museum
This place has been on our list of places we want to visit for quite a while. We came with certain expectations and weren't disappointed. The buildings all over the area give you a nice overview of the rural areas in Austria. The gardens and fields are well cared for and round up the great impression. Furthermore you get additional info where needed and people aren't bothering you trying to tell you things or trying to sell their stuff. We really enjoyed it and were glad it was able to live up to our expectations.

Peaceful and Lovely
We've lives in Graz for just over a year and this is one of our favourite places to go, especially with guests. The Valley is just beautiful with no traffic and wild flowers. There are so many building to look in you can't see everything in one day. The stream is great for kids to play in on a hot day. The food at the Gasthaus is nice and big portions. Areas for improvement: Information for Non German speakers. Slightly more activities or demonstrations. (Yet to go on one of there special theme days)

Very nice but lacks information in English
This is an open-air museum, which can be an interesting option if one has one spare day in Graz. Getting there without the car is a bit complicated: we went there during the week (we were told that it is much more difficult to get there during the weekend) by taking bus 110 at 9am from Lendplatz, for return trip we took bus at 1.30am with one change on the way (the driver was very helpful). We found there many original and historic farm buildings from all over Austria. One can see how difficult the life in countryside was in old times. The museum covers a large area but the walk is very nice, we are in the woods, occasionally meeting some animals (we met donkey and goats). The big problem there is information for non-German speakers. The booklet in English given at the entrance is very laconic and all descriptions of houses are exclusively in German, which leaved us guessing about the purpose of different buildings. Looks like the place is aimed for local tourists only, which is a pity, because the museum is really nice choice for a day trip, especially for kids.
