Lovely walk around the lake
We just wanted to find a nice place to visit shortly before leaving the area. This lake is surrounded by the mountains and have such a nice climate that the temperature was a bit higher than in the cities. The walk around the lake is about 45 min. There are banches to sit, tables for picnic and mountainbike and bike roads arond as well. Don’t miss if you are near.

Walk around Oedensee
We enjoyed a beautiful 45 minute walk around Oedensee. You can take a swim in the lake or enjoy a lunch at the restaurant. It's an easy walk for any age group and there are a number of benches along the way to rest. Bring your picnic basket and enjoy the scenery and fresh air.

A wonderful little gem
This lake is relatively small in the Austrian Salzkammergut (the Austrian region of lakes and Alpine ranges near Salzburg) , but it is a real gem. There is very nice hotel/restaurant at the lake side and you can actually drive right up there . Apparently it is also a popular wedding destination . However, if you are doing public transport , you can also so train . The nearest station is Bad Mitterndorf-Heilrunn. From there just follow the sign , and you will be able to walk on a trail through farms and woodlands before you reached the lake . It is a very pleasant walk , may be an hour or less depending how many photo stops you take. At the lake side , there are benches and rubbish bins and taking a picnic lunch there is a good idea . The lake is so serene and quiet ( avoiding weekend , of course). On a good day , the reflection on the water of the surrounding mountain and forest is just out of this world. Plan to spend a whole day here.
