Dominican Monastery
When we decided to visit Ptuj, we were lucky that it was during the Slovenian Day of Culture (Prešeren's Day), so the monastery was open to the public. Dating from the 13th century, it has plenty of history and mysteries to offer. We got to see some of the wall frescoes amd were also able to see the restauration process. The monastery was the place where prior to building specialised buildings, the Mithra shrines and lapidarium were stored and preserved. The good news to visitors of Ptuj is that from May onward this year, the monastery will frequently be open for visitors.

attractive
Outstanding and attractive monastery is worth to take a look at least from the outside - attractive extrior with rich decoration. It is advisible to take time for the visit as well - some nice halls, corridors, occasional exibitions, seminars...

Well... yeah
I know how much effort was put into it, it is just not used as good as it could be. Not sure, how to put a congress in it or when one will be, but for exhibitions definitely good. Make more of them and do not hesitate to demand more than 1 EUR for the entrance.
