A Beauty

Dating back to the 13th century, this church has a distinct character and history. It is the oldest in the Old Town and is home to several relics as well as an impressive statue of Saint George fighting the Dragon. Storkyrkan can pique almost anyone's curiosity, not just the history buff's.

A beautiful landmark in Gamla Stan
Beautiful cathedral in Gamla Stan, only a short walk away from the Royal Palaces. The outside is still under construction, but the interior is well-kept, full of history and so beautiful. Look out for the St George statue, the stained glass, beautiful pulpit and the candle globe. It's a very peaceful place to reflect and take in. It's around £7.50 (at current exchange rate) for adult admission, but worth every penny. There are leaflets available as a short guide to the cathedral in most major languages.

    If you have time
I went because i had a gocity pass, it was nice, im glad i went but its not really worth the 85SEK fee. a third of the church was sectioned off because parishoners were practing, i dont know if it was just the time i went or a daily occurance, still not being able to see all that you paid for is annoying. it wasnt without a highlight on the wall on the left side a huge painting on purgatory that was AWESOME i spent 5 mins trying to get every angle on my phone. as a side note i took a boat tour and learned that pre-pandemic the building was yellow
