Perfect day out
The banana lake is not far from the Vila cocearus about 5kms nice for a bike ride. The lake itself is an excellent spot nice warm water for swimming, or other water sports. Plenty of choice for eating, and drinking and full of friendly locals who always seem ready to help if they can. A lovely spot, well worth a visit.

Very quiet...too quiet
A week day early August seems not to be the right day to go to the Banana lake unless you're looking for a quiet and lonely place. As a consequence we had to find someone to order drinks and when leaving finding someone to pay. The lake itself was not that nice, the water was green and the beach furniture was not well maintained. But it is nice to be able to lay in a hammock on the beach close to the lake and we had a quiet time reading a book.
