Seahorse Dive Shop does it again !!

Recently went back to Placencia and another trip with Seahorse Dive Shop. This time we went to Laughing Bird Caye. Our guide Julio, was a true Mayan, with expert knowledge of the reed and aquatic life, we saw lobsters, King Spider Crabs, Barracuda, Juvenile Yellow Tail Snapper and several varieties of Parrot fish. The corals , sponges and fans were abundant and healthy. So many beautiful things to see!! Water clarity was good, temps were also in the right range for a day in the water. This is our second trip with Seahorse and I can truly recommend a safe, exciting and memorable trip with them if you are in Placencia and wanting to dive or snorkel.

    A small bit of paradise
We took a boat ride with The Splash tours. The island itself is idyllic. Think swaying palm trees, soft sand, turquoise water. If Robinson Crusoe were stranded here he would have no desire to leave. There is one bathroom on the island, and no food available unless you or your tour guide brings it. The guys at Splash in Placencia did a fantastic job with our snorkeling, then grilled lunch for our group.

Nice little Caye about 12 miles off the shore of Placencia
Nice place to snorkel and buy t-shirts. There are facilities on the caye. We took a boat named Go-Sea and it was a little rough getting out to the key as it was a windy day. The boat seemed to be a scuba boat so not very comfortable when hitting the waves but the captain did a great job. From this Caye we went to Moho Caye, absolutely beautiful there. We trolled for fish on the way back and caught a lot of small fish including tuna, snapper and Spanish mackerel. Nice day
