Norma
Bellini's opera is a classic. A bit of Rossini and lots of romanticism. We happened to be there for the first. It was the staff of Teatro Regio di Torino, a well know opera making in my country, Italy. The castle atmosphere mixes well with the opera type. Acoustic is good and execution was masterly. I was a bit prevented before going, but surely I changed mind.

Wonderful experience
One of the best and most accessible opera festivals in Europe. Quality of productions, singing and music is outstanding. Setting is unbeatable, in the medieval castle. Food and drink, if you eat in the castle before or after the opera is excellent and great value. Town is charming and if you don't swim in the lake you are missing a unique experience. Moving around inside the castle, especially at the intervals, is chaotic and annoying and one night the surtitles board was not working, but that is a rare problem.
