Nice alter and ceilings - lucky to find it lit up!
The most visited church in Oaxaca - the opening hours seemed a bit uncertain but we managed to view it during a ceremony going on in the evening and also (after being briefed by our guide Juan) during the day. Guides are not allowed in the church to speak to their clients. Fair amount of gold leaf used and the nice, red blooming trees make a good setting.

Beautiful Church in the Center of Town
They are still working on restoring areas of the church and there are some areas that are not open to the public, but the areas that are open and restored are beautiful. A quick tour can be purchased from a guide at the church for only 100 to 200 pesos. It was worth it to learn about the origins and meaning behind the variety of artistic works inside.
