Museo Textil de Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, Mexico

An interesting little museum in the centre of Oaxaca
The museum had creative displays of more contemporary work and also some more traditional Mexican clothing. Entry was free, we just had to provide our name and country. The museum isn’t very large, we were probably there for about 30 minutes in total. There were some QR codes to scan that gave information in English. Most of the information was written in Spanish but there was enough of the English information to understand the exhibits. There are lockers as you go in to store large bags and also a small shop and toilet.

Small, beautiful works on display and free!
The title says it all. This is a small museum that you can easily visit in less than an hour and, when you do, you'll see some beautiful textiles on display. To top it all off, admission is free. Definitely worth a little of your time to stop in and see when you visit Oaxaca.

Museo Textil de Oaxaca - worth many visits!
The Museo Textilede Oaxaca is one of my favorite museums in Oaxaca. Creating textiles and learning about historic Oaxacan textiles is my passion. The exhibits are amazing and touch on many textile traditions from many regions of Mexico. This museum is free so you can go in every day and admire your favorite garments or weavings. Most of the info is in Spanish so a bit of translating is necessary. The museum is centrally located and next to a great Cafe so it is easy to make it a daily destination. In 10/21 it was one of the few museums open so this as a blessing.
