Bustling and kind of chaotic
A very large covered market filled with local goods, produce, and food. It's very busy and crowded both inside and right outside. The outdoor area has a number of haphazardly constructed stalls leaning onto the main building giving off a kind of chaotic impression. The indoor area is fairly clean and well organized with stalls being thematically grouped for the most part. Lots of food, mezcal, clothes, and knick-knacks. most of it looks like it is locally made. Definitely worth visiting.

Seeing is believing
After hearing so much about this place and also watching it on Andrew Zimmern delicious destinations show, we were all excited to visit this place. This could be tour one stop stop to buy your Moles, Chilli peppers, Oaxaca coffee and other local spices (we did). There is a section for practically everything: breads, cheeses, cacao products, nuts, fruits, juices. Just ask the shopkeepers, they do gladly help you. Walk to the hall next to the market building and you will get the food court where you can pick you meat and have it grilled for you. Also a good place to try tlayudas. Note that the whole experience needs a lot of patience and energy, so come prepared. It will be crowded, dont get lost. I highly recommend you go there, we enjoyed it.
