Gyula Almásy Castle, Southern Great Plain, Hungary

Gem!

Nice facade and park around the castle. IT is worh visiting! Entrance fee is 2500ft per person and, if you want, you can add 700ft for audio guide. But, honestly, there is no reason for that. Mostly everthing is wrriten in english. From room to room, there is very detail description of purpose and everyday life of the castle citizens.

    Well Done!!!
My wife and I went on the guided tour, and it was excellent! So many details about life in such a castle. The exhibits and rooms are a combination of beautiful reconstruction and modern installations illustrating life in ages past. Very engaging! We spent about 2 hours in the castle, but if we had had the time we could easily have spent at least one more. There are so many interactive elements that provide information. Very highly reccomend.

Wonderful presentation of the 19th century castle life
I visited several castles in different countries but this is one of the most interesting. Similar to castles managed by Madame Tussaud trust but without wax statues. However, there are a lot of interactive presentations that amaze you. The inscriptions are in Hungarian and in English. The only minus would be the entry ticket which is priced quite high. We were unsure to enter or not but we didn't regretted at all. Reserve yourself at least 2-3 hours for this visit.
