4.5Lappeen Marian kirkko(24 reviews) - Beautiful wooden church Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
St. Mary's Church of Lappee is an Evangelical church that dates back to 1794. The neo-gothic belfry was completed in 1856. It is located in a park quite far from the church. The church was closed during our visit. So we couldn't see the interior.See more..

See more..
4.5Parikkalan kirkko(4 reviews) - Объемный храм Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
See more..

4.5Salpalinja(2 reviews) - Visita guidata molto interessante Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites • Battlefields
See more..
4.5Rakuunamaki(2 reviews) - Dragoon Hill with historic red-brick barracks and many monuments Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
Rakuunamäki (literally Dragoon Hill) is an old garrison area. Originally it served as an accommodation area for the dragoon regiment and cavalry. Nowadays it is publicly open for everyone. This historical area is almost as interesting as Lappeenranta Fortress, I think. The dragoon regiment was established in the 1880's and these red-brick barracks were built then. You can even stay overnight in one of them, if you book your accommodation in Hotel Rakuuna (see separate Tripadvisor reviews). The area is full of interesting monuments. So this is a very nice historic walking area. Besides, Rakuunamäki is a part of Saimaa Geopark. Rakuunamäki features an ancient shoreline of the Baltic ice lake dated to 12,600 - 10,300 BP (Rakuunamäki raised beaches). The address of Rakuunamäki is Mannerheiminkatu, Lappeenranta. Navigators also recognize addresses Kasarmikatu and Väinö Valveen katu.See more..
3.0Taavetin linnoitus(1 review) - Venäjän keisarikunnan rakennuttama linnoitus Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Military Bases & Facilities
See more..
4.0Kuivaketvele Hillfort(1 review) - Great view from the top Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks Kuivaketvele Hillfort is about 10-12 minute car ride or 30-35 minutes bicycle ride from Lappeenranta city center. There is also buses running between Lappeenranta and Taipalsari but they are only on weekdays. The hill fort offer excellent 360 degree of the surrounding. The view of the lake is also very beautiful. On the top there are benches where you can relax and catch a breath before heading back. On the way back you can also pick up blueberries if they are in season.See more..
