Great way to explore the historic centre
Doing a 'stadswandeling' - a guided walk -in Brielle is a great way to explore the historic centre. We picked up the guide from the tourist information and did the Oranje walk, giving us enough little insights to even keep our teenagers interested. The walk is clearly described (incl. map) in the guide.

Nice citywalk
We did a citywalk in this lovely historic fortified town. It is not very large but it is nice to walk about in the picturesque streets and stop at one of the terraces. Brielle is best known as a major historical turning point in the Dutch uprising or the Eighty Years' War. In earlier centuries, Brielle was strategically situated on an important waterway to Rotterdam. Brielle is also part of the major European walking route E9 from Portugal to the Baltic states.
