Great tour with enthusiastic volunteers
The museum is a bit small. It is one anti tank bunker. However it has some really nice artifacts. They have different uniforms, weapons and daily items used by the German soldiers. There is a short movie which gives a good summary of the place. We also did the tour and that is highly recommendable. The Germans made different kind of bunkers for all kind of purposes. With a walk through the dunes, all different types are shown and explained. In addition a second anti-tank bunker can then be accessed which is furnished in the way it was, when it was used.

Fascinating
Absolutely fascinating. Not big, but full of interesting material - weapons, transport, bunker machinery, personal possessions of WWII German soldiers once stationed here… There's plenty to interest children, and a friendly guide to show people around and explain. It's a kilometre or so outside town, along the sea-shore. There's a holiday cafe-restauirant nearby. For some people, it'll be worth coming to the Hook of Holland just for this museum. It may be wise to ring and check opening times before you go - either the museum itself or the Hook of Holland tourist office (+31 174 519 570)

Nice to see the boats go in and out
But pity that you can walk only halfway. A walk with kids is often not so nice because of many cyclists, on their bikes or with bikes in hand take the tour over the pier.
