worth the trip via car

Drove here with my mum on a mother and daughter trip in middle July 2022. Due to lack of rainfall there was less water in the valley then anticipated or sufficient for cliff diving. However, we still enjoyed the journey. It was a short 15 minute walk from car park to the first oasis where we had traditional mint tea in the oasis. We survived the trip with normal gear including flip flops however supportive shoes could be helpful. Some cash for the small cafe and restaurant is helpful too. However, as we drove there and walked ourselves we avoided any extortionate tour prices, which could have altered our opinion. We were happy with our trip. It was an exciting car journey from Agadir through interesting desert type landscape. Finding the oasis then really did feel like a paradise.

Interesting and enjoyable way to spend a morning
Paradise Valley is about 45 minutes drive from Agadir. We opted not to take the TUI trip as that included a meal with a Berber family which we have done when we have stayed previously in Marrakesh. Also we wanted to have more control over photographic stops and the route being driven. We found a local tour driver for 3 of us in our party and paid a total of 500 dhirams for the drive out, a good walk into the valley itself an slightly more offbeat return journey for more pictures. Departed 9.00AM and returned around 1.30PM at the Tikida Beach Hotel. Really lovely and informative driver with excellent English (Thank you Mohammed). The valley was very quiet at this time of year as it is off season and we had had some overnight rain which is greatly appreciated here. This made the experience probably much nicer because it was so quiet and it felt like we had the place pretty much to ourself. Interesting natural canyon and oasis type of feel with the local Berber village above the waterway. They come down during the season to set up their stalls along the gorge for the tourists.

Not enough time to swim-not how it looked on the website
This is a beautiful place, very scenic and stunning. It’s amazing when you reach the valley and look up. Utterly gorgeous and worth a visit. Our driver Omar was very nice and the place is lovely even the little shops and stalls. Those were the good bits. The trip wasn’t what we expected, as we all thought we could swim in the lagoon once we arrived, but the water was freezing and the sun hadn’t reached the valley yet. The other issue with the trip was that although the guide was helpful during our hike up and down the valley (you need to wear hiking boots or very sensible shoes) he rushed us once we were there, and we didn’t get to see everything calmly. Even if we could swim, we wouldn’t have had the time to even though on the site it said that we would have 1.5 hours to swim. We spent longer getting to the location and hiking than we did seeing it. It’s better to book this excursion for a full day if you can and be prepared for a hike and very cold water at this time of year, which should be noted. The organising and timing of the trip needs improvement.
